Classmates, Nothing More, Says Moynihan Of Manafort: Report

The New Canaan First Selectman candidate went to college with the indicted former Trump campaign chairman.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Though they both attended Georgetown University at the same time, New Canaan First Selectman candidate Kevin Moynihan says he and indicted former Trump campaign director Paul Manafort were only acquaintances, reports the New Canaan Advertiser.

The publication posted a photograph of Manafort and Moynihan - with Connecticut Republican Chairman J.R. Romano - that was taken at the 2016 Republican National Convention, which prompted a question about how well Moynihan knew Manafort.

Moynihan was a Trump supporter, who helped raise money for the transition, but he says his only contact with Manafort was through fundraising efforts for Georgetown University. He added he had no contact with Manafort after the convention.
