Closed Roads, Power Outages Reported In New Canaan
Two roads were deemed "impassible" on Monday due to the heavy storm that swept through the area.
NEW CANAAN, CT — Marshall Ridge Road and Green Meadow Lane in New Canaan were "impassible" Monday evening due to downed trees and power lines, according to Mike Handler, the town's director of Emergency Management.
Monday's high winds and heavy rain also knocked out power to 68 Eversource customers as of about 8 p.m., according to the utility.
"Town highway crews and Eversource are mobilized," Handler said, adding that most of those without power "are associated with the road closures and we will work to get power restored as quickly and safely as possible."
