Coyote Warning Issued By New Canaan PD, Parks Dept.
Officials have erected a sign at Waveny Park advising caution.
NEW CANAAN, CT — The New Canaan Police Department recently issued a reminder on its Twitter page that residents should be careful because coyotes have been spotted in the area around Waveny Park.
A sign stating that fact has been erected at the popular park, which instructs people to not turn their backs and run away from coyotes but face them and be demonstrative.
"Be as big and loud as possible. Wave your arms and throw objects," the sign states, along with other suggestions.
