Decision Made On Classes At New Canaan Public Schools For Feb. 23
A major snowstorm is expected to impact the region from Sunday, Feb. 22, through the afternoon on Monday, Feb. 23.
NEW CANAAN, CT — New Canaan Public Schools and offices will be closed Monday due to a forecasted winter storm, the district announced Sunday.
In a message posted to the district's website, school officials said "our region is expected to see significant snowfall and high winds, and dangerous travel conditions are expected to last throughout [Feb 23]. Please stay safe and warm - and enjoy the extended winter break!"
A major snowstorm is expected to impact the region over the next 24 hours.

A blizzard warning has been issued for all of southern Connecticut as 60 mph wind gusts are possible Sunday night into Monday.
The heavy snow moves in this evening and really ramps up at night and Monday morning with snowfall rates of 2 inches per hour expected.

Coastal sections of Connecticut could see total snow accumulations between 16 and 24 inches. Snow accumulations between 16 and 20 inches are possible for inland areas.
