Delayed Opening Dec. 11 For New Canaan Public, Private Schools

Roads are slippery after overnight snow hit the state. BREAKING.

NEW CANAAN, CT — New Canaan Public Schools will open on a two-hour delayed schedule on Wednesday, Dec. 11, due to the inclement weather that swept through Connecticut overnight, district officials announced.

"The New Canaan Public Schools are on a Two Hour Delay schedule today, Wednesday, 12/11/19," officials said. "NCHS & 7/8 - 9:30 a.m.; South - 10:15 a.m.; Saxe 5/6 - 10:20 a.m.; East & West - 11:05 a.m. Please drive safely."

Additionally, the private St. Luke's School and New Canaan Country School also will open on delayed schedules; St. Luke's at 10 a.m., and the Country School on a two-hour delay.

"Due to the early morning driving conditions, St. Luke's will begin at 10:00am today starting with C period for Middle Schoolers and E period for Upper Schoolers," officials said. "All after school activities and games will take place as planned."
