Family of Hit-and-Run Victim Hold Funeral Service Friday

The service will be held in Stamford and is open to immediate family only.

The family of Jayaraman Krishna, Wednesday's hit-and-run victim, is holding a funeral service Friday in Stamford, according to the victim's son. 

The ceremony is being hosted at a crematorium and is a private affair, open only to immediate family. J Krishna, the victim's son, says the family is in mourning.

"At this point, we're just trying to deal with our grieving. I'm taking care of my mother," Krishna said.

Friday's funeral comes  a day after police identified the vehicle suspected in the hit-and-run. The suspect has not been identified yet but Krishna is happy with the police's work.

"The New Canaan police have just been stellar," Krishna said. "They've fulfilled their obligations and will continue with the investigation."

The hit-and-run on Oenoke Ridge Road occurred Wednesday evening at approximately 4:30 p.m. The victim, Jayaraman Krishna, 82, was spotted by a passerby who contacted police at 4:41 p.m. Krishna was transported to Norwalk Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Investigators were able to find the suspected car using a side view mirror left at the scene of the crime. 

Jayaraman Krishna is survived by his wife, son, two grandchildren and in-laws.
