Farren's Pre-Trial Postponed Two Weeks
John Michael Farren, the New Canaan resident charged with attempted murder, did not appear in court this morning.

The pre-trial hearing for New Canaan resident John Michael Farren, the former Bush lawyer accused of attempted murder and strangulation in the first degree, has been postponed until Aug. 19.
Farren's defense attorney, Eugene Riccio, appeared in state Superior Court in Stamford on Thursday morning to request the postponement.
Farren, 57, is accused of attempted murder of his estranged wife after he allegedly beat her with a metal flashlight in January 2010. Farren before spending a month in the Institute of Living, a psychiatric hospital in Hartford. Farren checked himself out on July 6 and has reportedly been living with his sister in Hartford.

At time of press, Farren's defense attorney, Eugene Riccio, was not available to comment. Farren's next court appearance is set for August 19.
