Fire Breaks Out In Attic Of Home Under Construction In New Canaan: FD
Fire officials said the blaze broke out in an area of the attic of a home under construction in New Canaan.
NEW CANAAN, CT — Crews extinguished a fire that broke out Friday afternoon in the attic of a home in town currently under construction, according to the New Canaan Fire Department.
In a news release, Chief Albert Bassett said the fire was reported around noon in the attic of a home under construction on Richards Lane.
When crews arrived, they found a fire burning in a utility room in the attic and extending into a finished area of the home, Bassett said.

According to Bassett, the origin of the fire was initially difficult to locate due to energy efficient widows and insulation, however the blaze was ultimately extinguished by crews.
The cause of the fire has not been determined yet and is under investigation by the New Canaan Fire Marshal's Office, according to Bassett.

No injuries were reported and no residents were displaced, Bassett said.
Each floor of the house had significant water damage, according to Bassett.
Firefighters from Westport, Norwalk, Noroton Heights, Darien and Wilton provided assistance, Bassett said.
