Florida State Offers Scholarship to 8th Grade New Canaan Quarterback

NEW CANAAN, CT- Drew Pyne hasn't thrown a pass yet at the high school level, but the 6'1'', 170 pound eighth-grader is already commanding the attention of top college football programs.

Pyne was offered a scholarship to Florida State University, which is ranked 14th in an Associated Press poll.

"Extremely grateful and humbled to receive a scholarship from Florida State University," Pyne wrote on Twitter.

He would be a 2020 recruit for the college.

A few days before he was offered a scholarship from South Alabama, according to the Bleacher Report.

Pyne showcased his skills by leading Pop Warner's New England's New Fairfield Falcons to the national title tournament last season.

Pyne has football in his blood. His brother Brendan is a linebacker that signed with Brown University and got many offers from Division 1 programs. His father George Pyne was an All-Ivy League offensive tackle at Brown, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.

George Pyne was named as one of the top 100 most influential sports people in America by Bloomberg Business. He is the former president of IMG Sports and Entertainment, former CEO of Nascar and founder and CEO of Bruin Sports Capital, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
