New Canaan, CT –For the last two decades on September 11, we come together to remember those who perished in the tragic terrorists’ attacks on 9/11/01. This year to honor and remember the thousands of lives that were lost, State Rep Lucy Dathan is organizing a “one for one" food drive, with the goal of collecting 3,000 food items, representing one for each victim. The drive will be on Sunday, September 13 from 10am-1pm in the parking lot of the New Canaan Library.

“Many of us commemorate the Americans who were tragically lost on September 11th with acts of service and kindness,” Lucy Dathan explained. “It is in that spirit we are holding this food drive for our neighbors in need.

“Please stop by the New Canaan Library on Sunday to drop off nonperishables and encourage your friends and family to also contribute healthy food items. The Person-To-Person mobile van will be on site to gather the items, following all safe socially distanced protocols.”
