Former NCHS Teacher Begins Rehabilitation
After four years of allegedly sending harassing letters to New Canaan residents, Andrea Gravereaux begins treatment.
Andrea Gravereaux, a former English teacher at New Canaan High School charged with second-degree harassment for allegedly threatening New Caanan residents through letters over a number of years, began her two-year Accelerated Rehabilitation yesterday, according to her attorney Sperry DeCew.
While DeCew declined to comment on the status of his client's mental health, Gravereaux will be undergoing court-ordered rehabilitation for the next two years, he said.
The 66-year-old woman was arrested on June 2, ending four years of harassing letters sent to residents in the areas of the New Canaan YMCA and Douglas and Gower Roads.

During a Tuesday morning appearance in state Superior Court in Norwalk, Gravereaux was ordered to complete the accelerated rehabilitation program in lieu of a more serious penalty, court records show.
Accelerated Rehabilitation is a first-time offenders program, according to the Connecticut Adult Probation Office. Those who enter into the program are not monitored by an actual individual on a weekly basis, but are responsible for fulfilling the terms of their probation set by the court. Terms can range from drug rehabilitation to psychological treatment.
