"Frozen Jr." At Saxe Middle School Nov. 15 & 16

The annual Saxe Middle School fifth and sixth grade production this year will be Frozen Jr. The Musical. Performance dates are Friday, November 15th at 7 pm and Saturday, November 16th at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. Both performances will take place in the Saxe Middle School Theater.

The enchanting modern classic Frozen Jr. is based on the 2018 Broadway musical, and brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage. The show features memorable songs from the animated film, with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, plus five new songs written for the Broadway production.

A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen Jr. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princess Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor, Frozen Jr. is sure to thaw even the coldest heart!

Under the direction and choreography of Lauren Nicole Sherwood, along with Joe Gergle, Musical Director and Matt Blank, Stage Manager and Assistant Manager, audiences will be transported to Arendelle and the North Mountain and will witness such highlights as the creation of an imaginary friend, the coronation of a Queen and the magical healing powers of the hidden folk.

More than 130 students have dedicated three afternoons per week to practice their singing and dance routines. Students also volunteered as stage crew and have been working tirelessly to transform the high school auditorium and stage.
