Celebrating the achievements of students from New Canaan.


Caileigh Murray, a New Canaan High School freshman, has been selected as the National Associate Editor of "Patriot's Legacy" Magazine, the quarterly magazine of National Society of Children of the American Revolution. Caileigh also serves as the CT State Recording Secretary and, locally, as First Vice President of Captain Stephen Betts Society. 

Children of the American Revolution is the country's oldest Patriotic, Service and Leadership Development Organization. If you are interested in membership, send an email toYankedoodlemome@gmail.com.

Philip Pacelli IV was awarded a bachelor of arts degree from Connecticut College at the 96th commencement ceremony on May 18. Pacelli graduated summa cum laude with a major in music and economics.

Kristen Hogan of was named to the dean's list at Bates College for the winter 2014 semester. Hogan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis W. Hogan, is a 2010 graduate of New Canaan High School and is majoring in philosophy.

Lily Kurtzman of New Canaan, a junior majoring in humanities and arts at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), recently completed an intense, hands-on research project in Santa Fe. The project was titled Tribal Broadcasting: Promoting Youth Enterprises and Preserving Native Culture Through Media.

Ashley Pacelli, a junior at Connecticut College, was recently inducted into the Connecticut College chapter of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society of Psychology, for the 2013-2014 academic year. Pacelli, a 2011 graduate of New Canaan High School, is the daughter of Dr. Philip and Mary Pacelli of New Canaan.

Bates College student Parker Nelson of New Canaan, delivered a researched-based presentation at this year's Mount David Summit, the college's annual campus-wide celebration of student academic achievement. Nelson, the son of Mr. and Dr. Paul R. Nelson, is a 2012 graduate of Saint Albans School.
