Green & Tonic Opens New Canaan Location
Green & Tonic, a plant-based eatery and organic coffee shop, held a ribbon cutting for its new location in New Canaan this week.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Green & Tonic, a plant-based eatery and organic coffee shop with six locations throughout Fairfield and Westchester counties, recently celebrated the company's upcoming 10-year anniversary by opening a new location in New Canaan.
Green & Tonic originally operated a store on Burtis Avenue, which closed in 2020 in preparation for its new location at 21 Forest Street, according to a spokesperson. The new store held a ribbon cutting event Monday morning with the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber president Laura Budd said she and her team were excited the space at 21 Forest Street, which she described as beautiful, had been filled by a business that was popular prior to closing its Burtis Avenue location.

Green & Tonic opened it's first location featuring a superfoods-powered menu in Darien in January 2012. Locations in Westport, Greenwich, Fairfield and Rye, N.Y., soon followed, with each store offering salads, wraps and sweet and savory snacks alongside cold-pressed juices, nutritional meal programs and detox cleanse programs.
All six locations offer indoor and outdoor seating, as well as free WiFi, and each will undergo renovations in 2022.
The company's main commissary is located in Stamford, where the bulk of its packaged items and signature foods are made to ensure quality and consistency across all store locations. Jarred soups, bakery items, grab-and-go meals and other items are prepared fresh daily at the Stamford location and delivered to Green & Tonic stores.
"Green & Tonic is rooted in plant-based superfood ingredients, and we are thrilled to be able to answer the call for how people are eating today," Gabriel Sorgi, the company's president, said in a news release," but at the end of day it's the ability to provide this type of food in a creative, delicious and accessible manner that fuels our stores and our customers. Our menu is chef-designed, seasonally inspired and constantly evolving."
Signature menu items include create-your-own acai bowls and superfood smoothies, oatmeal and quinoa breakfast bowls and new breakfast sandwiches made with house-baked gluten-free focaccia, a plant-based egg and cheese alternative and avocado, with beyond sausage optional.
