Horizons Benefit Celebrates Ripple Effect Of Swim Program: Feb. 2
"Make a Splash!" will be held at the Greenwich Hyatt.

From NCCS: Horizons at New Canaan Country School (NCCS) will hold its biennial benefit on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Greenwich Hyatt beginning at 6:00 p.m. This fundraising event is open to the public and will include dinner, dancing and both live and silent auctions.
The evening’s theme is "Make a Splash!," and will celebrate the ripple effect the Horizons summer swim program has on the lives of its students, their families and their communities. Learning to swim is a life skill that builds confidence, resilience and perseverance, which is carried into the classroom. This is evident in the program’s outstanding high school graduation and college enrollment outcomes: 100% of high school seniors graduated in 2018 and 97% enrolled in college this past fall. The live auction will be led by Lydia Fenet, SVP and Global Director of Strategic Partnerships at Christie’s and author of the book The Most Powerful Woman in the Room is You. The evening is being supported by a number of sponsors, including Gold Sponsor, Shoreline Pools, Inc. and Media Sponsor, Fairfield County LOOK. Chelsea Staniar of Darien and Sanny Warner of New Canaan, are co-chairing the event committee. Lindsay Kollar, Marketing Director for Shoreline Pools, Inc. is serving as Honorary Committee Chair.
Horizons at NCCS started in 1964 and is the flagship program for what has become a national movement. Horizons is a K-12 academic and enrichment program anchored by a six-week Summer Program, with afterschool and weekend programming throughout the school year. The educational model has been confirmed to help eliminate the impact of summer learning loss and bridge the opportunity gap faced by children from under-resourced communities. Each year Horizons serves 400 students, the majority of whom live in Norwalk and Stamford. Since its founding at NCCS, Horizons has changed the odds for Norwalk and Stamford students by providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed in school, college, career and life.
