When officers entered the woods and got closer to the fire, they found a human body "fully engulfed in flames in the supine position," Ferraro said in an earlier release.
Members of the New Canaan Fire Department helped extinguish the fire. At that time, Ferraro said preliminary evidence indicated the incident was "most likely a suicide."
He also noted the incident was isolated and was not connected to the Jennifer Dulos case.
