IMO gold medalist Michael Kural visits Greenwich Math Club this past weekend!
Greenwich Math Club celebrates successful mathletes with cake and a special visit from Michael Kural!
The Greenwich Math Club celebrated its’ last meeting of the year this past weekend at the Chinese Language School of Connecticut with Sierpinski's Triangles, cake and Michael Kural. The standing-room-only event marked the end of a successful first year at the math club for local middle school students who participated in the program. In addition to the social aspect of the club, students participated and won state level competitions.
To mark the special occasion, students were provided with entertainment that only mathletes can appreciate: Sierpinski's Triangles. Greenwich High School volunteers Jovita Li, Derrick Xiong , Steven Ma and Kevin Tu of Brunswick were also on hand the for gifts of appreciation from CLSC for their volunteer efforts.
Math Club director Dr. Lisa Yin of Greenwich carved slices of cake while the students listened to International Math Olympia gold medal winner Michael Kural, his mother Allison Kural of Greenwich (currently home from MIT for spring break) answer questions about his journey through his years at the local Greenwich Schools and his future plans.
