NEW CANAAN, CT- A New Canaan woman was arrested after she tried to pick up her child from school while intoxicated, police said.

Police were dispatched to South School June 9 after getting the report. Officers spoke with Melina Usher, 43, and smelled alcohol, police said.

She failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. She refused to take a BAC test.
Usher was charged with DUI.
