Jaafar Tazi has been waiting for the right time to open a salon in New Canaan and the moment is here. The owner of a successful, sophisticated salon on Greenwich Ave will bring his talented team to New Canaan this summer. The salon will be located on the second floor at 80 Main Street, across from Art and Soul. The opening is planned for August 22nd, but the New Canaan salon will start scheduling appointments on August 15th.
“We have many clients from the New Canaan area and are now glad to bring our services to them,” said acclaimed stylist and owner Tazi. The new salon, like Greenwich, specializes in making people feel and look beautiful. The salon’s services will include hairstyling and coloring—a specialty, —as well as bridal services, nails and make-up.
“People often compliment both my cut and color, which makes me feel great about myself and the salon. Jaafar cares about the precision of the cut and maintaining the integrity of my hair. I believe that his talented staff shares his vision and will be so glad to have them right in town,” said loyal client Amy Fields of New Canaan.

A stylist in Greenwich for 15 years, Tazi brings both wisdom and experience to his salons. His current team of stylists and colorists has expanded to keep up with client demand. To ensure his team stays on the cutting edge, Tazi encourages continuing education that includes classes on trends, techniques and new product.
Tazi is grateful for the community support that helped grow his business over the years and plans to bring the same approach to New Canaan. “We are very supportive of local causes and hope our involvement makes a difference,” explained Tazi. Recently Jaafar Tazi Salon provided hair styling for all of the models in Couture for a Cause, the Young Women’s League spring fundraiser.

“I think it’s a beautiful town and have actually always wanted to have a salon in New Canaan,” Tazi said. “This has been a dream that I have had for the last seven years, and it’s coming to life.”
