John Farren Attempts to Stop Wife from Collecting $28M Judgment: Report

Farren was convicted of attempting to murder his wife in New Canaan.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Convicted attempted murderer John Michael Farren, 63, is trying to prevent his wife from collecting a $28 million civil judgment against him.

Farren has appealed his criminal conviction to the United States Supreme Court, according to the Stamford Advocate. He wants to prevent his wife from collecting a civil judgment until after it is decided whether the court will hear his case.

He was convicted for a 2010 domestic assault that left his wife with a broken jaw, broken nose and cuts and bruises across her body. He is serving a 15-year sentence.

Farren is due to be released in 2029. He is currently at the Garner Correctional Institute in Newtown, according to Department of Correction records.

He is known for serving as deputy White House counsel under George W. Bush and also served in a legal capacity under George H.W. Bush.
