Kate Reeves wins P.E.O. STAR Scholarship

NCHS senior awarded prestigious Star Scholarship by P.E.O.'s local Chapter N

Kathleen (Kate) Reeves, a senior at New Canaan High School, has won the prestigious P.E.O. STAR Scholarship for the 2018-2019 academic year. Daughter of Julie and Michael Reeves, Kate was recommended for this scholarship by P.E.O. Chapter N of New Canaan. She has been accepted and will attend Georgetown University where she will begin her study of political science and history this fall.

The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship is a $2,500 Scholarship based on excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics, and potential for future success. The program is open to young women who are citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States or Canada and who are graduating high school seniors at the time of application. Applicants must be recommended by a P.E.O. chapter. P.E.O. provides funding for 5 other educational projects/scholarships as well. For further information, please visit www.peointernational.org.

Sisterhood, founded January 21, 1869, at Iowa’s Wesleyan College, is an international philanthropic and educational organization that promotes increased educational opportunities for women. There are over 6,000 local chapters in the United States and Canada with over 225,000 members. P.E.O. has provided over $321 million in financial assistance to more than 105,000 recipients.
