Letter To The Editor: New Canaan Community Foundation Thanks You
"In 2019, the Foundation invested $1.9mm in grants to 78 organizations that serve our community."

Dear Editor,
Happy New Year from the New Canaan Community Foundation!
In 2019, the Foundation invested $1.9mm in grants to 78 organizations that serve our community. We awarded $190K in scholarships to students and provided emergency assistance to families. We also, mobilized 170 volunteers to support community initiatives and engaged 26 high school students in our Young Philanthropist Program. As a part of a new initiative, we connected more than 65 community members and experts to strengthen our focus on Behavioral Health, in hopes of understanding and providing community awareness of growing issues in New Canaan.

As we enter into the next decade, I wanted to send my sincere thanks and gratitude to all of our donors and volunteers in New Canaan. We hope to continue our work and expand our focus as needs change and our community grows. Thank you for supporting our work in the community for over 42 years.
We invite all residents to help us celebrate this accomplishment at the Community Foundation’s Annual Meeting on Thursday, February 6 th at Waveny House. Please join our staff, board, and other supporters for wine and hors d’oeuvres at 6:00 pm, followed by a short program at 7:00 pm.
