In this bizarre year of 2020, when businesses, schools, and people’s lives basically shut down, the New Canaan Community Foundation immediately stepped up by raising and dispersing critical funds for the COVID Emergency Fund in our town. As an EMT with New Canaan EMS, my colleagues and I were the beneficiaries of plentiful PPE allowing us to care for our neighbors safely.
This is just one example of how the NCCF reacts to the needs of its community. Run by a board of directors and countless volunteers who discern the many diverse needs of the people of New Canaan and our surrounding neighbors, the NCCF receives more grant requests than it can possibly fill, yet each request is considered thoughtfully. Our recent Behavioral Health initiative has opened our eyes to the vast need of individuals of all ages who are struggling with addiction and mental illness. Our goal has been to reduce the stigma and help our neighbors have access to the right programs to help them heal. This has been just one of the many areas of focus. Others include, programs to support children and grants to help sustain some of our best resources in New Canaan like the YMCA and the NC Library to name a few.

Please join my husband Jim and me and help support the amazing efforts of the NCCF. Your thoughtful contribution will help us continue to make a difference for our neighbors.
