Lightning Strike Causes House Fire In New Canaan: Fire Marshal
Fire officials said the fire resulted in structural damage to the home's basement ceiling and kitchen floor.
NEW CANAAN, CT — A lightning strike caused a house fire to break out Tuesday at a home on Nubel Lane, according to New Canaan fire officials
Fire Marshal Paul Payne said in an email to Patch the fire caused by the lightning strike resulted in structural damage to the basement ceiling and kitchen floor. The kitchen itself was also damaged.
No injuries were reported, Payne said.

WTNH News 8 reports the fire broke out around 1:30 p.m. and was extinguished by both volunteer and career fire crews.
