Local business owner named winner of 2014 Moffly Media Best of the Gold Coast Award

Julia Deane, of Culinary Works, says she is honored to win the award.

Julia Deane, of Culinary Works, has been named a winner of the 2014 Moffly Media Best of the Gold Coast Award.

This is the first year Deane has been a recipient of the award and the 10th year the award has been given out. Deane studied in Northern Italy at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as recreational schools in New York, New Orleans, and Chicago including The Institute of Culinary Education in Manhattan.

“It’s an honor to win the award,” Deane said in a statement. “I appreciate the support of my clients and I will continue to keep up the hard work.”

With over 10 years of experience, Culinary Works combines professional cooking instruction with a casual, hands-on hands social format that everyone can enjoy. Located in the kitchen design studios at Deane, Inc. in Stamford and New Canaan, classes are intimate and interactive with seasonal menus and educational and entertaining themes to choose from.

Deane attended Norwalk Community College where she studied under French based, certified Master Chef Edward Leonard, who she said taught her the importance of properly seasoning food and using seasonal ingredients whenever possible.
