Locust Ave. Parking Structure Removed from Budget
The project would've added 77 parking spots to the lot.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Town officials decided to pull the Locust Avenue two level parking structure from the capital budget.
The item was pegged at $4.1 million, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.
First Selectman Robert Mallozzi said it was a tough budget year and expects the project will make a return to consideration next year.

One big question that remains with New Canaan's budget is whether the state legislature will adopt Gov. Dannel Malloy's plan to have municipalities pay one third of teacher pension costs.
New Canaan would stand to effectively lose $3,468,955 between reduced aid and pension costs.
