Longtime New Canaan Police Officer Promoted To Sergeant
A longtime member of the New Canaan Department was recently promoted to the position of sergeant, according to police.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A longtime member of the New Canaan Department was recently promoted to the position of sergeant, according to police.
Officer Daniel Gulino was promoted by the town's Police Commission on June 21, and he began the position July 5, according to a news release provided by police. He is assigned to the department's Patrol Division.
Gulino has been a member of the department since 2010. Prior to his time in New Canaan, Gulino served as a Bridgeport police officer.

Gulino has fulfilled many roles in the New Canaan Police Department, including acting lieutenant, acting sergeant, dispatcher, bicycle patrol officer, field training officer, project lifesaver project manager, school crossing guard trainer, driver improvement instructor and Pink Patch Project coordinator, according to police.
Gulino has earned several awards, including the Police Service Cross, two Meritorious Duty awards, a Unit Citation award, a Medical Service award, two AAA Traffic Safety Hero of the Year awards and a Unit Citation, police said.
