Mallozzi: P&Z, Citizens Should Decide on Building Developments

The first selectman did say he is a proponent of working to cross the 8-30g affordable housing threshold.

NEW CANAAN, CT—First Selectman Robert Mallozzi III said it's not his place to decide what the town should allow to develop, but did say he hopes the town works toward passing the 8-30g affordable housing threshold.

A town that has less than 10 percent of its housing stock designated as affordable is subject to relaxed local zoning laws when a developer applies for an affordable housing permit.

It's up to the Planning and Zoning Commission and citizens to voice their concerns about how they want development in town to proceed, Mallozzi said, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.
