Man Accused Of Stealing Wallet, Purse Arrested: New Canaan Police
Police said the man was arrested on burglary and larceny charges and was later found to have five active warrants.
NEW CANAAN, CT — A man arrested Saturday in New Canaan on burglary and larceny charges was later found to have five active warrants, according to police.
In a statement, Police Lt. Jason Ferraro said an Elm Street business reported an employee's wallet, cash, credit cards and purse stolen on Oct. 7.
According to Ferraro, the items were stolen from an employee area of the business that is not open to the public. The value of the items stolen was approximately $470.

On Saturday, police arrested Dean Henton, 55, of Bridgeport, at the New Canaan Train Station on two active arrest warrants, however officers later determined he had five active PRAWN warrants, Ferraro said.
Henton's charges included third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, illegally taking a payment card and first-degree failure to appear.

On Monday, Henton was brought to Stamford Superior Court by New Canaan police. Upon arriving at court, it was determined that a new warrant for his arrest was active, according to Ferraro.
On March 15, a Main Street business reported an employee's backpack, wallet, cash, credit cards and clothing stolen from an employee area of the business not open to the public. The value of the stolen items was approximately $955, Ferraro said.
After an investigation, police identified Henton through video surveillance as the suspect in the burglary of the listed items and illegal use of the stolen credit cards, Ferraro said.
Henton was processed at and remanded to the custody of the court, Ferraro said. He was additionally charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny and third-degree identity theft.
