Man Busted After Cops Whiff 'Strong Odor' Of Pot From Car: NCPD
The incident occurred last week on Main Street in New Canaan.
NEW CANAAN, CT — A 37-year-old Norwalk man was arrested on a narcotics charge in New Canaan on April 25 after the smell of marijuana emanating from his vehicle was so strong that a police officer could smell it as the man drove by, according to authorities.
Ioannis Papachristou, of Ferris Avenue, was arrested at about 5:30 p.m. on Main Street after he passed by the patrolling officer. Whether the officer was in a squad car or standing on the street was not disclosed.
After pulling over Papachristou, police found an undisclosed amount of marijuana in the vehicle but it was less than half an ounce, according to New Canaan police.

Papachristou was charged with possession of a controlled substance and was released on a promise to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on May 6.
