Man Charged With Stealing BMW From New Canaan: Police
A New Haven man accused of stealing a BMW from a New Canaan home in January was arrested this week, according to police.
NEW CANAAN, CT — A New Haven man accused of stealing a BMW from a New Canaan home in January was arrested Thursday, according to police.
According to an arrest summary provided by New Canaan police, the car was reported stolen from a North Wilton Road home on Jan. 18. and found in New Haven a short time later.
After further investigation, with assistance from both New Haven and Wilton police, New Canaan police identified Keisean Dwayne Chavis, 20, of New Haven, as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

On Thursday, New Canaan police traveled to New Haven to take custody of Chavis, who was being detained by his probation officer on the active arrest warrant, police said.
He was charged with first-degree larceny and held on a $35,000 bond.
