Man Sexually Assaulted Juvenile In New Canaan: PD
Police released more details about the arrest of a man who is accused of sexually assaulting a minor on two occasions.
NEW CANAAN, CT — A man who sexually assaulted a juvenile in New Canaan was officially charged by officers Thursday, according to police.
New Canaan Police began investigating on Oct. 24 after they were called to the area of Oenoke Ridge Road and Lukes Wood Road regarding a suspicious man in a resident's driveway. The homeowner said he honked his horn and the man left the driveway.
Police caught up with Leland Robinson, 31, who gave them a false name and date of birth, and a bogus reason as to why he was in the driveway, police said.

Robinson was initially arrested on Oct. 24 and charged with interfering with police, according to court records.
Detectives then launched a follow-up investigation and found that Robinson had sexual contact with a juvenile victim on two occasions and that he had sent sexual images and text messages to the juvenile victim, according to police.

Police released a wanted person bulletin of Robinson on Dec. 27. The FBI Fugitive Task Force and New Canaan Police learned that Robinson was staying in Brooklyn, NY. He was taken into custody by members of the task force Jan. 6 and was turned over to New Canaan authorities on Jan. 9.
Robinson is charged with second-degree sex assault, fourth-degree sex assault, risk of injury to a minor and enticing a minor by computer. Bail was set at $18,750.
