Mitch Albom's Vivid "Tuesdays With Morrie" at the Powerhouse Theatre
Three Performances Only! November 3rd-5th!

"Death ends a life, not a relationship." That bittersweet nugget of truth was just one pearl of wisdom terminally ill Professor Morrie Schwartz transmitted to his former student, Mitch Albom in the nineties. There were many, many more pearls, and they are strung together elegantly in a play to be performed in New Canaan the first weekend in November: Tuesdays With Morrie.
When Albom graduated from Brandeis University in 1979, he promised to keep up with his beloved sociology teacher, Morrie Schwartz. But life and a busy career as a traveling journalist intervened. It was a full sixteen years later, when Albom ran across an interview with Schwartz on late night television, that the younger man determined to renew a friendship with his college mentor. By that time, Schwartz was suffering from the debilitating effects of Lou Gehrig's Disease; and Albom was living in Detroit, more than 700 miles away from Schwartz' home near Boston Massachusetts.
As fate would have it, Albom's initial visit to the professor evolved into a series of profound weekly conversations on the meaning of life. After Schwartz' death, Albom memorialized these encounters touchingly and with humor in his bestselling book of the year 2000, Tuesdays with Morrie.
