NAPA New Canaan Auto Parts Employee Honored

From NAPA New Canaan: We are pleased to announce that RJ Marra, NAPA New Canaan Auto Parts, Inc., New Canaan, CT, serviced by NAPA Connecticut is the2018 NAPA/ASE Parts Specialist of the Year. This is the 19th year for this important national award which recognizes the most deserving parts professional in the NAPA system and the industry we serve.

RJ is a parts specialist in the New Canaan store, owned by Rich Marra, Sr. RJ has worked at the store since he was 16 so you could say he's grown up in the business. RJ's nomination material highlighted his qualifications including his experience, training, community volunteerism, and commitment to ASE and NAPA. These traits are key to winning this award and RJ has them all. RJ actually won the NAPA Connecticut DC – NAPA/ASE Parts Specialist of the Year 2016 and he was a national finalist last year, so he has been in the running and finally claims the top spot. From his dad he learned that “any job worth doing is worth doing right." While in high school, he worked at his father's shop and then at Lostocco Auto Parts in Stamford. After graduating
from Ridgefield High School, he attended Western Connecticut State University. In 2008, RJ joined his father's store full time putting his knowledge and experience to work serving NAPA customers.

RJ understands the importance of keeping his knowledge, skills and ASE certification current. He is ASE certified as an Automobile Parts Specialist (P2) – achieving this designation in 2015. RJ has completed 461 eLearning and classroom courses since 2014 on NAPAtraining. He also helped bring NAPA Autotech classes to the New Canaan area and attends when scheduled. RJ has incredible knowledge of automotive technology, auto and truck parts, accessories, tools and equipment. Clearly, this shows his commitment and dedication to staying current and servicing his customers while utilizing his knowledge and skills.

RJ is actively involved in his community, volunteering for Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue (ROAR) assisting with care and placement of unwanted and displaced animals. He is a Head Coach and Assistant Coach for several youth sports teams in his hometown of Ridgefield (Little League baseball and Ridgefield Basketball Association teams). We could certainly go on describing RJ's accomplishments and dedication, however, we think you get the picture.
