Nat Mundy of New Canaan Receives 2015 Milli Award

Diamond Hospitality Group EVP Honored for Work in Westchester County

Westfair Communications recently held their first ever Milli Awards to honor exceptional millennials living or working in Fairfield or Westchester and changing the world around them. Nat Mundy, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Diamond Hospitality Group in Mount Kisco, was one of the 22 recipients, receiving the award for “Millipreneur.”

The event welcomed 250 people at Chelsea Piers Connecticut in Stamford and benefitted Community Plates, a non-profit organization committed to ending American food insecurity by delivering food from businesses that have too much to people in need. The 22 young professionals honored that evening, who ranged from 21-34 years old and represented several different industries, were presented 3D-printed awards in ten categories, including Community, Millipreneur, Nonprofit, Innovation, Creative, Technology, Medical, and Finance. The winners were chosen by a five-judge panel representing the Westchester County Association, Sacred Heart University, McIntyre Group, Madison Approach Staffing, and Robert Half.

Nat Mundy, a 34-year-old New Canaan, CT resident was acknowledged for his entrepreneurial work in Westchester County. Mundy began his work as an entrepreneur many years ago when he ran a hot dog stand and has since risen to great success with Grand Prix New York (GPNY) and Spins Bowl New York. He co-founded GPNY in 2007 to provide entertainment needs to various markets while aiming to maintain a singular, one-of-a-kind experience. During the recession, he took a risk and changed GPNY’s business model. The risk paid off and since launching GPNY, Mundy and his partners have created 80 positions, thousands of dollars in tax revenue to Mount Kisco and the county, accrued over 75,000 clients, and increased tourism with 60% of their visitors coming from outside Westchester.

More recently, Mundy purchased a historic Lewisboro deli which will be reopened in early 2016 as The Market on Spring. He is in charge of event sales at Kirby Hill Farm in Pawling, which Diamond Properties will be turning into a premier corporate and social events venue while preserving its unique ecosystem. With Diamond Properties, he’s also founded Safe Haven Auto Storage in Mt. Kisco and launched GoGoRacing Consulting LLC in New Canaan, CT. Mundy sits on the trustee board of Eagle Hill Southport, a school for children with learning differences in Connecticut, and has been involved in numerous charitable works with GPNY, including supporting Project Yellow Light, Survive the Drive, and donating the facility to various nonprofit organizations for fundraising events. They also used the venue to raise more than $140,000 for The Lustgarten’s Foundation “Race 4 A Cure” for pancreatic cancer research. These choices, both business and personal, connect directly to Mundy’s passions, which include taking risks, helping improve the lives of others, boosting the economy, and limiting our impact on the environment. In addition to this year’s Milli Award, Mundy has been named a Westchester Wunderkind by 914INC/Westchester Magazine and one of the Business Council of Westchester’s Rising Stars 40 Under 40.

“I’m so proud to receive this award and am thankful to Westfair Communications for bestowing this honor upon me,” Nat Mundy sad. “It’s wonderful be recognized for my work in Westchester County and I hope to continue to have a hand in making Westchester great.”
