NCHS Boys Alumni Hockey Game On Nov. 23
The puck drops for the 39th annual game at Darien Ice House.

From Friends of New Canaan Hockey: Captains Gunnar Granito, Turner Ives, Walker Ker, Jack O’Hare and Shane Pickering, along with the New Canaan High School boys ice hockey players will challenge some of the Rams’ past stars during the Annual New Canaan Alumni Game @5pm, Friday, Nov. 23rd at the Darien Ice House. Bring family and friends! Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door.
The New Canaan Rams hockey program began in 1957. In 1980, Larry and Fiz Tomaselli founded the Alumni Game to celebrate the New Canaan Rams hockey legacy of sportsmanship and a love of the game and has, over the years, become a hallmark New Canaan Hockey Thanksgiving holiday tradition.
Pitting current high school players against former Rams, the game serves to sustain the fervent NCHS Hockey bond formed by playing hockey as well as to generate fundraising support for the NCHS Hockey program – specifically to cover the escalating cost of renting ice. While the Board of Education and player dues cover a portion for these expenses, these combined sources fall far short of the cost of operating a successful Varsity and Junior Varsity Program.
