NCPD: 'No Comment' On Report Of Blood Found In Missing Mom Case

A Thursday report cited sources who said traces of blood were found in Jennifer Dulos' New Canaan home.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A spokesperson for the New Canaan Police Department said officials will not comment on a Hartford Courant report Thursday that said traces of blood were found in the New Canaan home of Jennifer Dulos, the mother of five who has been missing for nearly a week.

"Regarding the request for information/confirmation on the story released by the Hartford Courant no comment will be offered regarding any segments of the story," stated Lt. Jason Ferraro. "As stated earlier this is an active and ongoing investigation and when appropriate more information will be released."

The Courant report says that unnamed sources told the publication that the blood was found by state police detectives, who are working on the investigation with New Canaan police, on Saturday. Dulos had been reported missing the day before.

Whether the blood has been matched to Dulos is not clear, and the report says the location where the blood was found appeared to have been cleaned.

Dulos and estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, were in the midst of a contentious divorce and custody battle at the time of her disappearance, and she reportedly feared her husband she said in court documents.

Authorities were in Waveny Park in New Canaan on Thursday as the search for Dulos continued, and according to Ferraro, the search moved to other sites on later on Thursday. The New Canaan Advertiser writes that Dulos' Welles Lane home also was searched again on Thursday, as was Irwin Park on Weed Street.

"A search of a residence did occur today in Pound Ridge, NY with the New York State Police and New Canaan Police," Ferraro said. "No additional information will be provided on that search."
