New Canaan America250 Parade Details Released: What To Know
New Canaan is scheduled to hold a parade this week as part of its America250 celebration. Here are the details.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The town has announced details for its America250 parade scheduled to take place Saturday morning in New Canaan.
According to the town website, the parade will take step off from the Lumberyard Lot on Elm Street at 9:30 a.m. and proceed along the parade route (Elm to South Avenue), ending at Saxe Middle School.
The best viewing will be along the sidewalks of South Avenue from Elm Street to Farm Road, according to the town.

Patriotically decorated floats and bicycles, colonial attired local groups, vintage cars, Shriner cars, marching bands and fife and drum corps will be featured, according to the town.
"Gather your neighborhood, club or group to come watch this historic parade," the town website reads. "No modern day political messages are allowed as the town honors the founding of our nation in 1776."

No e-bikes are allowed at the event, and all participating minors must be accompanied by an adult, according to the town.
A rain date is scheduled for Sunday beginning at 1 p.m., the website notes.
"Coincidentally, 2026 marks the 225th anniversary of New Canaan's incorporation in 1801," the website reads. "As part of America’s semiquincentennial celebration, the New Canaan events are highlighting the town's history, civic leadership and enduring patriotic spirit."
