The Board of Finance also re-elected Judy Neville to the position of secretary during a recent meeting.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The New Canaan Board of Finance re-elected Todd Lavieri as chairman and Judy Neville as secretary during their meeting Tuesday.

The quick election took place shortly after the start of the meeting, which was held remotely in light of the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

No other board members were nominated for either position, and both Lavieri and Neville received unanimous approval from the board.

Following the election, Lavieri thanked board members for their support and noted his appreciation of their hard work over the past few years.

"I really think this team has worked really hard and done a lot," Lavieri said during the meeting, "but it's been terrific teamwork, so I really enjoyed all that we've done over these last several years in not-so-easy circumstances."

In an email to Patch, First Selectman Kevin Moynihan said he was very pleased Lavieri will continue to lead the town's finance board.

"He is a terrific partner," Moynihan said, "and I appreciate his contribution of time and talent to our town immeasurably."

According to Moynihan, the board's greatest challenge this year will be developing an appropriate 2023 fiscal year budget "in the face of inflationary forces, especially in health care expense."

Neville also thanked her fellow board members for their support, many of whom she has enjoyed working with for a number of years.

"It has always been an honor to serve as a member of the Board of Finance along with so many qualified, seasoned colleagues," Neville said in an email to Patch. "Many of us have worked together for years. I am grateful for their confidence and support."
