New Canaan Board Of Selectmen To Consider Several Contracts, Purchases During Upcoming Meeting: Agenda

NEW CANAAN, CT — The New Canaan Board of Selectmen is scheduled to consider a number of items at its upcoming meeting scheduled for Tuesday morning.
According to an agenda available on the town website, the hybrid meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room.
Members of the public are welcome to provide comments to the board on agenda topics scheduled for review and/or vote.

Among the items listed on the agenda is a request from the Department of Public Works to enter into a contract with FGB Construction for the "Pave, 2026 – Local Roads #1" project for an estimated total cost of $2,771,497.25.
The board is also scheduled to consider a related contract extension for micro-thin overlay and crack sealing of various roads for an estimated total cost of $505,424.52, according to the agenda.

The board will also review several purchase requests, including a 2025 Western Star 2WD Dump Truck, a 2025 Takeuchi Ski Steer and a 20-ton trailer for the Department of Public Works, according to the agenda.
The agenda also includes contracts for fuel tank removals at the Lapham Community Center and the wastewater treatment plant, as well as the installation of a bottle filler fountain, a stone patio and a donor brick walkway at Waveny Playground.
Other items include a presentation from the Board of Education providing a general update on a special appropriation request to the Board of Finance and Town Council related to potential enrollment-related expenditures, according to the agenda.
The board is also expected to consider a police department purchase order increase, an information technology-related contract and a memorandum of understanding with the New Canaan Exchange Club to allow for the temporary use of an on-site electronic payment system belonging to the club to support the annual Fourth of July fireworks event, according to the agenda.
Additional agenda items include a Department of Public Works projects update, hiring requests for two full-time employees and appointments to several boards and commissions, according to the agenda.
