New Canaan Board Of Selectmen To Review Contracts, Popular Community Events

NEW CANAAN, CT — The New Canaan Board of Selectmen is scheduled to review a number of proposed contracts, purchases and authorizations, as well as some popular community events, during its regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday morning.

According to an agenda available on the town website, the meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room in a hybrid format, with both in-person attendance and remote access available.

Selectmen are scheduled to consider a request from the Department of Public Works to enter into a $42,350 contract with Huntington Company LLC for a comprehensive survey of 394 Main Street, a 29.26-acre Public Works facility campus, according to the agenda.

Several additional DPW items include a proposed $16,214 sewer plant generator fuel tank project, emergency repair work at the Playhouse Theater, blanket purchase orders for winter storm operations assistance and an emergency purchase of 200 tons of salt for snow maintenance operations, according to the agenda.

The board is also scheduled to consider multiple requests from the New Canaan Police Department, including an increase to a purchase order for training equipment and an annual software subscription renewal for policy management services, according to the agenda.

Parks and Recreation items include a proposed $21,700 contract for annual spring reconditioning of the Mead Park clay tennis courts, according to the agenda.

The agenda also includes requests related to popular community events and town programming.

Selectmen are scheduled to consider approval of the 2026 New Canaan Farmers' Market, which is proposed to run Saturdays from April 11 through Dec. 19 at the Lumberyard Parking Lot, as well as a request to close Waveny Park for the Caffeine and Carburetors automotive and charity event on Oct. 18, according to the agenda.

Public comment is listed on the agenda for items scheduled for review or vote.
