New Canaan Builder Seeks to Demolish 1735 House
The house is thought to be one of the three oldest in town.

NEW CANAAN, CT- A builder has applied to demolish a house built in 1735 at 441 Canoe Hill Road.
The house is thought to be one of the three oldest buildings in town, according to the Advertiser.
Residents can write in written objects to the New Canaan Historical Review Committee, which then has 15 days to study historical significance and can issue a waiting period to gather more information.

Owner Max Abel said he is a builder by profession and originally submitted an application for a special permit that would keep the original house while building a new house on the 2.14 acres of land. It was withdrawn after neighbors objected.
