New Canaan Children's Clothing Store To Close: Report

The storefront's landlord and tenant could not come to a new agreement.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The children's clothing and accessories store Ella & Henry on Elm Street in New Canaan is scheduled to close on Dec. 31 due to the building's landlord and tenant not being able to agree on a new lease, reports the New Canaan Advertiser.

The store's current three-year lease expires on that date, and the landlord was seeking a 3 percent increase in rent, Ella & Henry's owner, Christian Eisenbeiss, told the publication.

According to the town, the owner of record for the building is Robert C. Sigg & Fiona A. Sigg LLC. Eisenbeiss did not say where, or if, she would open another store in the area.
