New Canaan Community Foundation Honors Unsung Heroes

The 2019 Volunteer Recognition Committee is currently accepting nominations for the acknowledgement of extraordinary volunteers.

(New Canaan CF)

New Canaan CF: Since 1998 our community has been recognizing “unsung heroes” in our community - individuals who volunteer to serve our community and are rarely rewarded for their selfless efforts. These outstanding volunteers devote their most valuable resource, time, for the benefit of the New Canaan community and deserve appreciation and recognition for their impact. The New Canaan Community Foundation is proud to lead this vital community program through the annual Volunteer Recognition Awards.

The 2019 Volunteer Recognition Committee is currently accepting nominations for the acknowledgement of extraordinary volunteers within our community. The New Canaan community is very fortunate to have many caring volunteers who go above and beyond and we are proud to have the opportunity to recognize their efforts. The committee is especially interested in honoring “unsung heroes” who may not have already been recognized for their efforts. Nominees will be sought for youth and adult volunteers, Board members who are leaders of nonprofits and “hands on” volunteers, as well as volunteer groups.

The deadline for nominations is October 11th via online submittal. The committee will review all
submissions and make decisions by early November. Winners will be recognized at an awards event at Town Hall on November 21st at 5:30 PM. New Canaan Community Foundation serves as New Canaan’s local partner for advice, leadership and facilitation of charitable giving. For over 40 years, NCCF has invested in high-impact local organizations and has helped donors achieve their charitable goals. For more information call (203) 966-0231 or visit www.newcanaancf.org.
