New Canaan Could Soon Implement Field Usage Fee
The mandatory fee would be put into the parks department's coffers.
The New Canaan Youth Sports Committee will likely recommend a mandatory fee to use the town-owned fields.
An article on NewCanaanite.com reported the committee’s 5-0 vote comes three years after the group was appointed.
The fee would be a $20 usage fee per player per season, the website said.

Committee member Sally Campbell was quoted saying during a meeting that the fee would go into the parks department budget and all funds collected would be mandated to be spent every year.
