New Canaan Councilman Moynihan Challenges Incumbent Mallozzi For First Selectman: Report
The two are vying for the Republican nomination.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Kevin Moynihan, a first-term Town Councilman and 36-year resident, will seek the Republican nomination for First Selectman, setting up a challenge to incumbent First Selectman Rob Mallozzi III, reports the New Canaan Advertiser.
The two will square off at the GOP caucus on July 18, and the winner will run for the post in November. In a statement, the retired corporate attorney writes that New Canaan is facing challenging headwinds which he believes he is quality to handle.
Mallozzi, who has held the post for three terms, says in a statement that he welcomes the challenge from Moynihan.
