World Congress is a hallmark of Country School’s eighth grade year. Students spend several weeks intensively preparing for the event. They conduct extensive research, work in task forces, write research papers and work with their peers to prepare their presentations. The event culminates with a formal public presentation and a barrage of audience questions which require them to think on their feet. “They develop several critical skills they will need as they move into high school, college and beyond,“ says eighth grade teacher Bart Fredo.
