New Canaan Drivers: Merritt Parkway Road Work Forces Lane Closures

Negotiating the Merritt Parkway between Stamford and New Canaan will require some extra patience on Wednesday.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced late Wednesday morning that crews will be performing road work in both directions of the highway.

Road work on the 5.2-mile stretch in the southbound lanes between Exits 38 and 35 is forcing closure of the left lane until 3 p.m.

And northbound — work is being done on the 3.7-mile stretch between Exits 34 and 36 until 2:30 p.m. The left lane is closed.
