The New Canaan football team received sexual violence training from The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education.
About 80 players received the training.
“The idea behind this training is break down harmful gender stereotypes for women and men and to explore the unique role that men can have to prevent sexual violence,” said Jessica Buchanana, the center’s outreach and prevention coordinator. “These opportunities exist for young men much earlier than the college years.”

Buchanan thanked Coach Lou Marinelli for his proactive approach and for shaping players both on and off the field.
