New Canaan Fox Attempting to Drink Beer Likely Rabid: PD
The fox was sighted multiple times and got into a tussle with a dog.
The fox was seen attempting to drink an unknown brand of beer in the street, according to the New Canaanite. Animal Control said one sign of rabies is an animal being thirsty, but unable to drink.
It was sighted five times between Friday and Saturday. In one instance it got into a scuffle with a dog. The dog is now under a 45-day quarantine.

The red fox is abundant in Connecticut, according to The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. They have a wide-ranging diet as omnivores. DEEP asks residents to never feed a fox and to protect small animals from them.
Humans are a deterrent to foxes and loud noises will often be enough to scare them off.
